Eric Spangler was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1976, and he grew up in Statesville, NC. He spent part of his career working as an EMT but decided to move to nursing. He attended Western Piedmont Community College for his education in nursing and graduated in 2005. His first nursing job was in the ICU at Grace Hospital.

During the interview, Spangler describes his education, including his curriculum, classmates, and instructors. He discusses his interest in working in a Cath lab and describes the changes in nursing that he has observed, even over a short period of time.
